Perhaps you can tolerate it more than I can. To Zierler, there's no such thing as going too far. Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here Bands alphabetical country genre Labels alphabetical country Reviews R. The playing is quite amazing. Email Address never made public.

It would've made a great bridge, but it shows up three times with a bad transition each time. Then you get the chugging, hyper-melodic ride of "Aggrezzor" - a song that Machinae Supremacy could have written if they were high on cocaine. I had a similar experience at a few points in the album, and while I still like those songs, it prevented them from really wowing me.
ZIERLER ESC reviews
I'm glad he tries to actually say something rather than generic metal lyrics, they're just executed without finesse. All of them are led by the man who wrote it all, Danish keyboard virtuoso Finn Zierler.
Beyond Twilight is zierlee more, but mastermind Finn Zierler has zierer from the depths with a ferocious, minute behemoth of an album titled ESC. He has his own brand of dark progressive metal which swings wildly between epicness and campy horror, with wailing power metal-esque vocals on top. Jesus, three years ago Later on you get slower, weirder songs like "Dark to the Bone," with its creepy chorus and grooving bassline, and the almost formless, structureless delve into the dark of "Evil Spirit" - one of Zierler's more nihilistic moments to date, and one of his most bizarre songwriting concoctions.
Kelly has only gotten better the past few years, with a great technique and wide range. When "Zierler Ec was announced Unfortunately, it's also not quite as good as I had hoped, but nevertheless, one of the most interesting albums of Check out the insane prog break before the last chorus in "Water" - shit, that's good. It must've seemed clever, but totally misses the mark. My music collection is insanely large. This izerler a glorious experience, and one of the best albums of the year.
He didn't used to play many fast leads, but he shreds up a storm on this one, including some impressive concert piano parts. With SO ec over-the-top playing and vocals by Carpenter that are often way, way too much, the album becomes a 73 minute marathon.
EmpyrealNovember 23rd, Rather than get caught up in cerebral instrumental exercises, Zierler pulls you in and keeps the twists and turns coming, and it wouldn't work without the delirious musical displays of excess and frivolity - the music is aided by those things, rather than clouded by them.
The part itself is actually really good, epic and full of passion, but it doesn't fit here, and it kills the momentum. For whatever reason, Beyond Twilight remained mostly unknown in the metal community, but those who did know them were -excited- for this.
Zierler - ESC - Encyclopaedia Metallum: The Metal Archives
The songs are big-picture compositions with many orchestral and synth layers, rather than focusing zifrler on guitars, but still manage to be quite heavy. You are commenting using your WordPress. My passion for life is music This entry was posted in progressive metal and tagged music review. This is challenging, daring, exciting stuff.
You just never really know where these songs are going. This album doesn't take shortcuts or provide relief.
Even though it drops the ball sometimes, I can't completely fault zirrler album with this much ambition. If it were a more naval-gazing, pretentious experience, lyrics like the ones on "No Chorus" about breaking rules and bucking trends and fighting 'the norm' would come off as either immature or an extreme bore, but instead, due to how exciting this album is, it comes off as refreshing.
